Temp Housing Providers Are Keeping Policyholders Cozy and Warm


Property loss is what every homeowner fears. The emotional turmoil that the affected person or family experiences is deeply personal and can cause an extraordinary amount of stress. When disaster strikes, people are most concerned with fulfilling their primary requirements of food and shelter, stemming from basic physiological needs. Claim adjusters serve as the primary resource for help in the eyes of the displaced policyholder who is confronting the unknown. For even the most seasoned adjusters, helping put clients’ lives back on track is challenging.

Claim administration is growing increasingly reliant on claim systems, which provide tools to enable the adjuster to schedule work efficiently, record claim management activities and decisions, and retain information that is available on a real-time basis. In addition, these systems allow adjusters to manage the financial aspects of a claim that are critical to the insurer, third-party administrator (TPA), or corporation. To successfully develop, implement, and enhance such systems requires a cohesive partnership between the claim organization and the IT department. These two groups must combine their efforts and share a vision as to how the claim system will be used in order to create an effective end product and meet the needs of all parties involved.

Environmental forensics plays a critical role in determining responsibility for cleanup-related environmental claims. The goal of this methodology is to determine what contaminants are present, who caused the contamination, and when and how the contamination occurred. Because cleaning up contaminated properties is very costly, it is absolutely necessary to fully investigate the sources responsible for the property’s contamination.
